It’s a familiar situation: a public announcement is drowned out by ambient noise, or the volume is so, it´s annoying – a nightmare if the information is critical, as with security warnings or instructions.
For this reason we have developed a new generation of loudspeakers that provide that essential bit of added value: The networkable IP loudspeakers of Series AFLS bring together communication and public address in a single device - this distinguishes them clearly from ‘classic’ public address solutions.
A microphone integrated into the loudspeaker allows each loudspeaker to constantly adjust its own volume to the perfect setting – IVC (Intelligent Volume Control) – even during an ongoing announcement. The result is superior intelligibility in any situation.
This means the Series AFLS loudspeakers are perfectly equipped for indoor and outdoor applications and even meet the demanding standards for industrial facilities. To suit a wide variety of environments and applications, the devices are available in a horn or projector design, and for in-ceiling installation.
Other unique functions include, for example, two-way communication or full functional self-monitoring.
When it comes to supporting different technologies, flexibility is key. The loudspeakers can be operated both on an IoIP basis and in SIP telephony systems.
This means they integrate equally well into existing Commend Intercom systems and Voice-over-IP configurations. A particularly useful feature is the built-in input contact, which allows for initiating an emergency call or announcement when a button is pressed or a motion detector is activated. There is no need for central PA amplifiers and loudspeaker lines any more – a nearby network connection is all that’s required to take advantage of the full range of functions.
Another unique feature is upward compatibility, which allows new functions to be added by a simple software download. FUNCTIONS AND HIGHLIGHTS

- Direct call and call response function over integrated microphone
- IVC (Intelligent Volume Control) automatically adjusts the Intercom Station’s volume setting to the ambient noise level
- Audio Monitoring enables ambient acoustic surveillance and triggering of automated actions such as voice announcements or emergency calls
- Built-in inputs/outputs, e. g. for monitoring of, or controlling associated third-party systems and triggering pre-defined actions
- End-to-end monitoring of connection and loudspeaker functionality
- Communication via IoIP or SIP
- Each loudspeaker can be addressed and configured individually
- High volume capacity and superior speech quality, thanks to integrated 10 Watt Class-D amplifier
- No need for central amplifiers – ideal also for small-sized and remote PA zones
- Loudspeakers can be allocated to groups and zones without modifying the hardware or wiring
- AFLS loudspeakers are fully forward compatible (unlike classic PA systems), as new functions can easily be added via software download
- Building security monitoring, and protection against theft and vandalism - e. g., through warning/audio messages triggered by video analytics or other detection devices
- Preventing people from accessing or staying in restricted zones
- Acoustic monitoring of security zones or prison yards
- Not just unidirectional, but bidirectional "talking cameras”
- Simple and robust Intercom stations for industrial environments
- Micro-sized applications with only one loudspeaker
- …and many more
